Father
Klaus are hand made Santa dolls made from the finest
quality materials. Each Santa has their own
personality and when looking at them they seem to
come to life, whether they have an old world
appearance or a modern day. Each one of the Santa’s
body and the wood base are signed and dated. While
the finishing touches are being added and Santa’s
personality is emerging, he is given a name. Creating
a new Father Klaus is a lot of fun. Ideas come from
a wide variety of things, research about Santa
Claus, holiday traditions ,old Christmas postcards,
a piece of fabric, a piece of trim or
fur, a personal memory or a certain person will help
with the inspiration for a new Father Klaus.
The
Santa’s range in size from about 16 inches to about
46 inches and are mounted on wood bases. Some Santas
are displayed by themselves and others are in a
design setting. They are made of a wire ,wood and
fiber armature and are mounted on oak, maple or
cherry bases Their faces and hands are pre-cast
porcelain or bisque that are hand painted with
realistic features. Porcelain faces have hand
painted eyes and bisque have realistic looking glass
eyes. Their hair and beard are made of angora goat
fur that is individually cut and put on piece by
piece to give him his life like features.
Some
of the displays include elf characters. These
little characters are all hand molded out of
Prosculpt clay and have glass eyes. Their shoes are
sculpted out of Sculpey clay.
The ribbon candy, candy canes,
cake and gingerbread houses ,gingerbread boys and
girls and other assorted candies and some toys are
all hand made from clay. Father Klaus’s clothing
style are made from designer fabrics, velvets,
brocades, wools, tapestries, designer trims,
leather, suede, real fur and assorted accessories.
They are clothed through out. All Santa's are

Bears, Cottage Collectibles, and assorted others.
A German tradition states: If you
find a bird’s nest in your Christmas tree, you will
have luck and happiness all year. Every Santa that
has a Christmas tree within the design also has a
bird's nest with a bird in it. |
